ADAS stands for advanced driver assistance systems. On most newer vehicles, a camera sits behind the rearview mirror and looks through the windshield to run the safety features you probably use without thinking about them.
Lane keeping
The camera reads the painted lines and nudges the wheel, or warns you, when the vehicle starts to drift.
Automatic emergency braking
It judges closing distance to the car ahead and applies the brakes if you don't react in time.
Adaptive cruise & auto high beams
The same camera holds your following gap on the highway and dips your brights for oncoming traffic.
Replace the glass and the camera's view shifts, sometimes by a fraction of a degree. That's enough to make lane keeping drift or emergency braking react late. The fix is recalibration: re-aiming the camera to the new windshield so every system reads the road the way the factory intended.
Here's where a lot of drivers get burned. Plenty of glass shops install the windshield, then hand you a slip and send you to a dealership for calibration. Second appointment, second bill, and your safety systems ride around out of spec until you get there. Not every windshield needs to come out. If the damage is a chip smaller than a quarter that hasn't reached the edge of the glass, repair is usually the smarter call. A chip repair is far cheaper than full glass, and it carries a lifetime warranty against repair failure.

The glass and the glue, explained
Two things decide how good a replacement still is years from now: the glass that goes in and the urethane that holds it there.
OEM-quality glass
We install glass built to the original equipment spec for your VIN: same thickness, same tint band, same sensor brackets and acoustic layers the factory used. That matters for ADAS too. Your camera was aimed through glass with specific optical properties, and cut-rate glass can distort what it sees.
Urethane and cure time
Your windshield is structural. It backs up the passenger airbag and helps the roof hold its shape in a rollover, and the urethane bead is what ties it to the body. Fresh urethane needs time to cure before the vehicle is crash-ready, so we give you a straight safe drive-away time before we leave. Usually about an hour. Cold Nebraska mornings can stretch it, and we'd rather tell you that than have you guess.

How long does a mobile windshield replacement take?
Plan on two to three hours at your location for most vehicles. The glass swap itself usually runs about an hour, ADAS recalibration adds time on equipped vehicles, and the urethane needs to cure before you drive. We'll give you the full timeline when we confirm your quote.
Can I drive right away after the glass is installed?
Not immediately. The urethane holding the windshield needs to cure before the vehicle is safe in a crash, and we won't hand back the keys until it has. Safe drive-away time is usually about an hour, longer in cold weather, and we tell you the exact number for your install before we leave.
Does insurance cover windshield replacement in Nebraska?
