The Process
Three passes, and the last one is the point
Plastic headlight lenses cloud because sunlight slowly burns the factory coating off the polycarbonate. Restoring them means removing that dead layer, then protecting the fresh surface underneath.
Wet sand
We sand the oxidized layer off with progressively finer grits, taking the lens down to fresh, clear plastic.
Machine polish
A machine polish removes the sanding haze and brings the lens back to full clarity.
Ceramic seal
We coat the lens with a ceramic coating, which blocks the UV that clouded it in the first place.
That third step is why the job lasts. Sanding and polishing alone leaves bare polycarbonate facing the sun, which is exactly the condition that made the lens yellow to begin with. Most DIY kits stop after the polish, and the haze comes back within months. Sealing the fresh surface with a ceramic coating is what keeps the clarity.

Moisture inside the housing
Condensation or standing water behind the lens means a failed seal. The fog you see is on the inside, where a polisher can't go. That housing needs to be resealed or replaced.
Cracks in the lens
A cracked lens, or the spidery internal crazing some lenses develop with age, is physical damage. Restoration would make the surface shiny while the damage stayed right where it was.
